The trip
to Christmas Island ended with flying to Honolulu. From there, Jim
Watt, Doug Perrine and I drove
to the North Shore (Haleiwa) to get ready to photograph sharks. On
the Monday and Tuesday, we chartered North
Shore Shark Adventures and manage to get some great
shots. Monday wasn't all that successful. Only a couple of
sharks came by. Tuesday was much better. They were Galapagos and
Sandbar sharks. I only managed to catch the Sandbar sharks in
action. At one point when not in the water, we think a Tiger shark
came by, because all the other sharks that were near our boat...took
off. It looked huge when looking at the distance between the
dorsal and tail fins. It was a fun two days. The
bottom left picture won 2nd place in the EPIC photo contest, digital
division. |
